Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Vice President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said Sabah is privileged to have Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as its liaison chief as it means Sabah’s status is now upgraded.
“I would have objected if it was just any other leader. This means we, in Sabah, can discuss and have direct access to the head of the National Opposition who is also the Prime Minister-in-waiting,” he said, Monday.
“I view this as something positive. In other words the status of Sabah and Sarawak has been upgraded. Isn’t this what we have been looking for?” he asked.
Jeffrey said that in the long term, Sabah PKR leaders would assist Anwar by proposing an alternative as Sabah liaison chief for Sabah and Sarawak. - Daily Express, Sabah.
