OPEN LETTER TO JACOB SAGAN AND LIHAN JOK

Surat terbuka di bawah, saya terima melalui email daripada kenalan yang telah memperjuangkan kepentingan penduduk Baram.

Dear

"YB Dato Jacob Dungau Sagan and YB Lihan Jok.

Without prejudice.

Are you defending us your voters in Baram or defending Taib?"

YB Dato Jacob Dungau Sagan our MP for Baram during a visit to Kampung Long Banyok, Baram recently told his audience not to listen to those who opposed the proposed Baram hydro project or dam sited between Kampong Long Nahah'a and Kampung Long Kesseh in the middle Baram. YB Jacob even said that he has been forewarned by the authorities that the dam will be implemented elsewhere and the billions of ringgit worth of projects associated with it will also be channelled elsewhere if the Baram people opposed the dam.

YB Lihan Jok on the other hand has said that the proposed dam is "God's gift" to the people in Baram.

But then, Dato Jacob, what is the worth of all the timbers from Baram extracted by the big companies all these years? Surely, they were worth hundreds of billions of ringgit. And the remaining timbers? Surely, they are at least worth tens of billions of ringgit too. And what about our NCR lands in Baram now illegally alienated by your BN boss, Taib Mahmud, also to the big companies for oil palms and acacia trees? Surely, they are not only worth hundreds of billions of ringgit but will generate tens of billions of ringgit in time to come.

For many terms now you are our wakil rakyat, our MP. Now you are even a Deputy Minister. Do you understand what the roles of wakil rakyat are? You are holder of a master degree. Surely you know that.

As a wakil of the rakyat of Baram, surely you know it is your most important role to act, speak and fight for and to defend the rights and interests of the rakyat of Baram without whose vote you would not have been what you are today.

So why is it that you have to go along with Taib and the BN govt threatening the people of Baram that if they do not support the proposed dam, the dam will not only be relocated elsewhere but so-called projects worth so-called billions of ringgits associated with the dam will be channeled elsewhere?

Is it because you want to save your post as Deputy Minister that you so readily support Taib and the BN to threaten our Baram people on the dam? If you do, that means you have abused our trust, mandate and votes as your real purpose is not to be our wakil rakyat but wakil your own personal pocket, agenda and interest!

If you are scared to stand up to speak, fight and defend the rights and interests of the Baram people then you are definitely UNFIT to be our wakil rakyat. A wakil (leader) must be courageous like our ancestors warriors!

There is no point that you became Deputy Minister and enjoy all the many perks and privileges from it but your rakyat in Baram who had steadfastly voted for you for many many terms are continually bullied, humiliated, threatened or held to ransom (with withdrawal of socalled projects) robbed of our NCR lands and all our resources in it.

If you do not speak out, fight and defend us, then, you are not only failing us as our wakil rakyat but are also consciously SIDING with Taib and the BN and the big companies who robbed and are still robbing us of our rights, our NCR lands, our resources, etc.

Surely, you are fully aware of the continual and aggravating problems faced by the settlers of the Batng Ai and the Bakun dam! If not pay a personal visit there and talk to the settlers directly about their situation. And don't talk out of ignorant or worse still just simply parroting what your boss Taib and Jabu (who caused his own Iban people to continue to be the poorest in Malaysia today)say.

Remember! Taib, Jabu, James Masing and the BN also said or promised the same thing before that the Batang Ai and Bakun dams will bring progress and development! But today they all have abandoned the people affected. SUHAKAM commissioners who personally visited Bakun recently reported that the problems faced by the settlers are worsening!!!!!And the penans in Belaga are even facing food shortage!!!

YB Lihan Jok, don't simply sells God's name especially when it involves something that destroys HIS blessings, gifts and creations to the people of Baram, namely, the mighty Baram river, our NCR lands and its resources and environment which all have supported our people for many many generations without which you and YB Dato' Jacob won't be what you are today.

Remember, it was not Taib, Jabu or the BN that provided your parents the means and resources to send you to school. It was the NCR land that God blessed your parents with and its resources in Baram that enabled your parents to send you to school.

By the way, if you really believe and trust in GOD, then, protect and defend God's creations, gifts and blessings, namely, our Baram river from being dammed by Taib!

Don't be afraid but stand courageous and put your complete trust in God's protection of your position as YB, as wakil rakyat or as Deputy Minister post (like what God did to Daniel when he was thrown into the lions den)

Also do not be worried of being blackmailed or held to ransom with threat of projects and billions of ringgit to be withdrawn from Baram if we do not support the Baram dam. Those are but only human or worldly threat from Taib, Jabu and the BN! GOD is still the ALMIGHTY one above them. GOD will still provide all our needs according to what we deserved to get from HIM.

Unless you do not trust GOD but your boss Taib and Jabu!

BRAVO BAITULMAL SARAWAK, WELL DONE!

Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak is introducing new measure to help the less fortunate, promising result within two weeks, online aid application, here.

I must say the intro music was exceptionally irritating, and loading seems to take forever. Why not using faster and proven easier application.

Or the website and the effort is another cash cow to put some purple coloured noted from the ever full Baitulmal chest into someone wallet. Baitulmal officers, behind the desk too are only friendly to YB, and treated its client like animal (baka jelu). Yes, like animal (baka jelu). Is it just because people who came over to Baitulmal are presumed needy people who do not deserve respect?

I have heard about ugly experience when dealing with Baitulmal one too many times. Most of the time, cases would only be greased after exposed by the press, why? Is it because Baitulmal money are meant to finance Jais, Minister and Majlis Islam top official fleet of Mercedes?

I personally bring this matter up to a YB friend who rubbished my claim saying that Baitulmal is very effective when dealing with him. Who is he, and who are ordinary client of Baitulmal?

To the arrogant staffs of Baitulmal, remember you are paid using the money generated meant to help the poor, needy and less fortunate.

If that make you proud, and behaving like superstar behind the good name of Baitulmal, please resign.

There are many more deserving people who doing their part voluntarily, and not earning high pay like you, only to treat the less fortunate as if they are animal (baka jelu).

To the efficient staffs who think that they have been doing their very best, keep it up, Allah knew. Your services would be duly rewarded in the next world, given if you are not good at apple polishing to be recognised in this life...

Anyway bravo Baitulmal, congratulation for setting up the online service, you are saving the poor from having to deal with some of your bloody arrogant staffs. From SarawakUpdate.

MANGSA BANJIR DI SADONG JAYA TIDAK MENDAPAT BANTUAN

KASIHAN.. Itu yang mampu terdetik di hati tatkala mendengar rintihan, sungutan dan rasa tidak puas hati mangsa banjir semasa saya melawat mereka semalam.

Memang ada kebenaran apa yang diluahkan oleh YB Datuk Seri Tiong bahawa operasi bantuan banjir tahun ini lembab dan tiada penyelarasan mantap. Perkara yang sama diakui sendiri oleh YB Dominique yang menerima banyak aduan daripada mangsa banjir.

Kerja-kerja bantuan tidak seperti yang dijanjikan oleh Pengerusi Bencana Negeri, YB Datuk Dr Chan beberapa hari sebelum banjir melanda Sarawak. Indah khabar dari rupa. Beliau mendakwa semua jentera bantuan telah siap-sedia sepenuhnya.

Penduduk Kpg Ensika di Simunjan telah memohon bantuan daripada pegawai di Pejabat Daerah Simunjan, tetapi terpaksa balik hampa kerana diberitahu yang pejabat tersebut tidak mempunyai sebarang bentuk bantuan.

Mangsa banjir di Serian turut mendakwa bahawa pusat pemindahan banjir mereka tidak mempunyai bekalan makanan yang mencukupi.

Keadaan di sekitar Bau, kawasan yang paling teruk dilanda banjir, turut mengalami kekurangan bantuan. Penghuni 3 buah rumah yang rosak akibat tanah runtuh tidak dibantu. Belakan makanan amat kurang.

Di bandar Kuching, bantuan yang disediakan terutama bagi penduduk di Seberang Hilir termasuk Kpg Bintawa, Kpg Pulo, nampaknya berpilih-pilih. Difahamkan bantuan makanan diterima oleh mereka yang kurang terjejas. Mangsa sebenar cuma mendapat saki- baki. Bantuan makanan telah diagihkan di dewan berdekatan rumah YB Nancy dan sudah tentu mereka yang rapat dengan keluarga YB tersebut sahaja yang mendapat lebih. Mereka yang lambat mendapat berita putih mata.

Semalam, semasa kumpulan yang saya ketuai hendak memberi bantuan makanan kepada mangsa di Kpg Semera, seorang pegawai di Pejabat Daerah Asajaya telah memberi arahan kepada pasukan petugas supaya tidak menerima bantuan daripada PKR. Amat pelik dan janggal pegawai ini. Usaha saya menghubungi beliau masih gagal.

Malangnya, mangsa banjir di Kpg Rangawan, Kpg Sg Putin, Kpg Rangkang, Kpg Pelandok dan Kpg Iboi yang semuanya di Sadong Jaya didapati tidak menerima sebarang bantuan daripada pihak berwajib. Pegawai dari Pejabat Asajaya cuma membuat tinjauan menggunakan kereta, selepas itu berlalu tanpa memberi bantuan yang penduduk harapkan.

Difahamkan mereka telah lebih 1 bulan tidak dapat turun ke laut atau ke kebun kerana cuaca tidak menentu. Hujan dan laut bergelora menghalang mereka mencari rezeki. Simpanan makanan susut dan ditambah banjir selama 2 hari itu, menyulitkan lagi kehidupan mereka.

Bantuan yang tidak seberapa hasil derma ahli parti dan mereka yang prihatin telah diagihkan kepada 85 keluarga. Setiap bungkusan yang kami sediakan cuma mengandungi 1 kg lebih beras serta makanan lain. Bayangkan kami cuma mampu menyediakan 10 beg beras, 60 kg gula, 13 kg garam, 4 kotak mi segera, 40 bungkus mi hoon, 10 tin sardin, 5 kg kopi, 60 kotak kecil teh, telur 2 tray dan 10 kg minyak masak.

Namun mereka yang menerima berasa amat bersyukur kerana masih ada orang yang memperdulikan mereka.

Hari ini, saya telah menerima 10 beg beras daripada 2 orang berbangsa Cina yang prihatin untuk diagihkan kepada mangsa banjir.

Sehubungan itu, saya merayu kepada semua warga yang prihatin agar menyumbang makanan atau wang tunai supaya PKR Sadong Jaya dapat menyalurkan bantuan kepada kira-kira 50 keluarga dari 5 buah kampung yang tercicir ini.

BANJIR - BANTUAN DIPERLUKAN!

Bahagian Kuching, Samarahan, Sibu yang dilanda banjir sejak 10 Jan lalu, mengundang keprihatinan orang ramai.
Fenomena air pasang besar dan ditambah hujang tanpa henti selama 2 hari memburukkan lagi keadaan. Lebih 10,000 mangsa telah dipindahkan di pusat bantuan di kawasan masing-masing. Daerah Bau, merupakan kawasan yang paling teruk. Selama 2 hari terputus hubungan dengan orang luar berikutan jalan raya ditenggelami air sedalam 1 meter dan sesetengah kawasan 1.5-2 meter.
Kpg Semera di Sadong Jaya turut mengalami banjir terburuk sejak pembinaan benteng penahan air masin 20 tahun lalu. Sebanyak 68 keluarga telah dipindahkan ke pusat bantuan di Dewan Pelbagaiguna.Sehingga kini, mereka belum dapat kembali ke rumah masing-masing.
Banjir telah menenggelamkan banyak rumah, turut memusnahkan tanaman, ternakan serta harta benda yang gagal diselamatkan.

Banjir telah menambah beban mangsa yang kebanyakannya nelayan. Keadaan laut bergelora sejak sebulan lalu, telah menghalang mereka mencari nafkah.

Sebagai meringan beban dan tanda simpati PKR Sadong Jaya telah melancarkan kempen derma kilat. Bantuan boleh berupa makanan, barang terpakai dan wang ringgit. Segala bantuan dan sumbangan amat dihargai.

RAYUAN BANTUAN MANGSA KEBAKARAN RUMAH PANJANG DAKUN, JULAU.

Adalah saya bagi pihak penduduk penduduk rumah panjang Rh. Dakun, Sg. Matop, P.209 Julau, Sarawak memohon bantuan kewangan atau sebagainya kepada mangsa kebakaran Rumah panjang pada bulan December 08. Panjang panjang yang terbakar pada akhir bulan Dec itu adalah 26 pintu. Sekarang mereka sangat perlukan bantuan daripihak yang berkenaan. Rumah panjang itu adalah terdiri daripada penduduk penyukong penyukong PKR. Kebanyakan mereka adalah petani. Mereka tidak ada sumber lain untuk mencari wang untuk mendirikan rumah mereka semula.

Oleh sebab yang demikian, adalah saya dengan penuh harapan sekiranya pihak ibu pejabat PKR, Kuala Lumpur dapat memberi bantuan seterusnya. No. Bank Acc.
